As I mentioned today on my facebook page, I said I missed doing self portraits. So, I told myself I would do one today.. Et Voila!
I’ve been straying away from self portraits since I bought my 50mm and my 35mm and stopped using my kit lens (18-55mm).. and I know exactly why. I don’t have a remote (and my camera doesn’t support wireless ones anyway) and so it’s a huge pain to focus everything properly. The focus can make or break a photo. If it isn’t spot on, it looks off and unrealistic, which is key! For example, this photo would look awful if every flower (which was all the same two flowers) was a completely different focus.. it took a lot of photos to get this many good shots for the flowers. So, since it’s become more difficult to focus and since I have to have room to get enough in the cropped frames I’ve been using other people more often because it’s just easier to get the photo done.
Hopefully… I’ll be able to head back towards self portraits though. I really do miss them!
Also, sorry the flowers turned out more “beard-like” than I pictured in my head. :3
